I’ve been customizing my X-T5s over the past few months, just simple stuff!
Color coding
Secondary body, easily identified by colour.
This was a pretty simple pickup thanks to Aliexpress. I grabbed black and red metal flash sync port covers along with a set of red soft release shutters. I combined that with my existing red Peak Design anchor links, and I have a very easy visual cue - Primary body is black accessories, and secondary body is red accessories.
Along with this I grabbed a couple of metal hot shoe covers, just as a slightly more premium option than the plastic ones that come along with the X-T5. I also grabbed these because I did need replacements after losing one or two.
New Eye Cups
The EC-XT S eye cup packaging.
Did you know the X-T5 is compatible with older Fujifilm EC-XT eye cups? The default one is fine, but it’s a bit chunky. Or maybe for you, it’s not big enough! The EC-XT M is the closest you’ll get to the default eye cup, but there’s also a smaller one (EC-XT S) and a larger one (EC-XT L). I’ve wanted to slim down the eye cup a little bit as I’ve found it tends to get caught on bags isn’t the most comfortable for me, so I ordered a couple of EC-XT S cups from Japan. They just came in recently!
Side by side - EC-XT S left, default cup right.
Impressions are good - It slims down the profile of the eye cup considerably, while still being a comfortable soft silicone expected from Fuji’s eye cups. These are more friction fit than the clip release that the X-T5 default eye cup comes with, but they feel super stable and don’t seem like they’ll be going anywhere.
That’s about it for now - These changes are small but they improve my workflows and make the cameras feel a bit more like they’re mine. Definitely recommend looking into the little cosmetic things, they’re generally quite affordable and they make your camera body stand out a bit more as yours!
